Looking back at the first
eight months of our Masonic year
easily brings to my
mind what, in jest, one visiting
Past Master remarked to me
during a stated dinner:
that our lodge had been through
a lot these last couple of
years. Such as, the untimely
death of two pillars, sickness
among the officers and commotion
coming from a disgruntled
junior officer. Yet, as he was
quick to add, the lodge has
survived, and survived well.
I nodded and as I smiled in
agreement, I looked around and
at the brethren
of Granada Hills Lodge- busy
with their food and animated in
conversations. What
I saw are the heroes of this
lodge. From the mess hall to the
lodge room, these brothers go
about their ways tending to the
burdens and responsibilities of
the lodge with the exuberance
counted only upon those who are
truly inspired and committed.
Without exception, from
all the line officers of the
lodge, and all those detailed in
the degree works, to the Temple
Board and Trestle Board
officers, to the members who
support by showing up for stated
dinners and coming in as side
liners: all of you have
contributed mightily to how we
have progressively pressed on,
for all things beneficial to our
lodge.
Our Granada Hills Lodge is
strong. Membership application
is as consistent as the degree
work on Wednesdays. Ritual and
line officers are totally
dedicated in
learning and improving their
craft. Thanks to the initiative
and selfless effort of our
Temple Board, we are now on the
receiving end of a very
lucrative offer for our lodge
property.
For the brethren who has
not been in the lodge for
sometime, it will be worth your
while to come and join us, for
meetings and degree works, and
have fun learning a little more
about your lodge.
Upon the Square,
Salvador D. Olbes
Worshipful Master
